Shapeshifter or ThemeChanger?

ive heard of both, and i know that there are supporters of both, but i want to know which one is safer for me to use on my system (Powerbook rev. a 12" 10.3.4) im not even sure if i will keep the progam, i just want to know which one will not change system files and potentially cause problems, also which is better in your opinion, and why?

i use shapeshifter but then again I rarely theme at all..
