share a printer os x 10.4 - os x 10.6?

Have a epson 1280 hooked up to a mac with 10.3.9 and also have a mac with 10.6 on the same network. Trying to print from the 10.6 to the printer on the 10.3.9 machine but keep getting an error- what is the trick? Followed the setup from the apple site and the printer looked like it showed up on both machines but just won't print. Any ideas? Thanks!

no dialog- just "error" in the print queue
but actually I have deleted the printer from the 10.6 machine and am try to add it back again. before I had some luck but now in the print & fax prefs I don't even see the printer to chose. if I click the + near bottom left in available printers (my printer does not show up in the printers list) and get to add printer it does not show up with default tab clicked, only if i click the windows tab. maybe that is how i did it before and maybe that is why it didn't work.
