The most unusual thing has happened. Basically, I have a share drive (which is a Lacie EdMini V2) which is my backup, and which is on my home network, so that the two macs in my home can save their files, and everyone has easy access to those files. I run my itunes music from the Lacie External harddrive.

Anyway, in the last couple of days, the share drive mounts, but as soon as I click on the share icon to open it and access the files, after a couple of seconds, the files suddenly disappear. So, I'm staring at a blank window.

Now, what I did was detach the share drive from the airport network (I unplugged the ethernet cable) and plugged it into one of my macs directly...via the USB 2.0 cable. But, it didn't mount and was undetected by my macbook pro. I even utility disk scanned, but nothing. I eventually connected the Lacie to my mac via both the USB 2.0 cable and the ethernet. But, still no joy...no icon showing up on my desktop.

So, I plugged it back into the airport network, and it's mounted and is showing up on my desktop...but still no files showing. The crazy thing though is that all my itunes songs are playing, AND when I open up photoshop, it accesses all my photos on the Lacie that are there, and I can open up my photos via Photoshop. But, directly accessing them (or any other file - .doc or RAW or JPG or whatever - is impossible because there's a blank window facing me.

what the hell is going on? Any ideas?
