Share folder on Mac to everyone

I want to share lots of files with around 10 people, I would like to be able to share a folder on my Mac (running latest snow leopard) and allow users on Mac's to download the files onto their computer.

Any ideas?

I've found ways to make the Mac into an FTP server but a lot of the tutorials are too vague. thanks

System Preferences -> Sharing -> Turn on File Sharing and add files/folders you want to share

Ok, but thats really vague. What FTP credentials would I have to use from another computer outside of the network to download the files from the folder?

Oh, so they aren't on same network? What files are they? You could use MediaFire

I'm looking for a more permanent solution, the there will be many small files totalling at around 5GB but we'll be adding more files regularly, which is why I want a folder on the computer where I can add files too when I want.
