Share iMac superdrive with windows PC?

Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction... I have a 2012 iMac, with a usb superdrive, and an Acer (windows 8) ultrabook, with no optical drive.

I'd like to find a way of installing software, from a CD/DVD, onto my ultrabook.

Both machines are connected to the same network, so, can i share the iMac's superdrive, so that the ultrabook can see and use it? Or are there drivers which i can download and install on the ultrabook so that i can plug the superdrive straight in to it?

Any ideas?

Solved - downloaded the Bootcamp support software (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638) and installed AppleODDInstaller64.exe on ultrabook.

If there's any reason why i shouldn't have done this please fill me in!

Well, this is quite simple if you have Windows running on your iMac. Otherwise, you can create a Windows-compatible shared folder on your iMac and make a link from the DVD to this folder, as described here: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20060420105632844
