Share images between macs?

My parents just bought a new iMac and I was wondering if there was a simple application that allowed me to copy images from say iPhoto directly onto their mac. I know you can share photos to an online site, Facebook etc., but was wondering if there was an app that dropped them directly into iPhoto (or similar app) on a remote mac?

Nothing as far I know of...kind of a bummer as my dad has a Mac too and that would be helpful.
