Hi,

Is it possible to share my internet connection from my iMac wirelessly to my girlfriends pc laptop? I found internet sharing, but the only options I see are through Ethernet or Firewire.

I'm using Leopard 10.5.3

Thanks!!

What is your current internet connection, wired or wireless? Do you have a wireless card in your Mac? If you have a wired connection right now, choose that in the "Share your connection from:" drop down, and the wireless or AirPort will show up in the check box list below it if you have a wireless card in the Mac.

Hello,

I do see the option for airport in the listing, and the PC laptop can find the signal, however, then it will not connect. I am given a message on the PC saying Windows cannot connect to Ari's computer.

Any ideas??

Update: When I removed my WEP password from my airport options, the PC was able to connect to my network.. however, with a password, we had no luck.

Any ideas?

Try plugging an ethernet cord into your Mac and connect it to your PC, and then on the Mac choose to share from the AirPort to the Ethernet, then see if the internet works on the PC.

When I put a $ sign, i can only type 1 more letter.. then it wont let me save the password... I'm using 40-bit WEP. Should I use 128?

I set up 40-bit WEP with a 5 character password.
But the PC never prompts me for a password.. it simply says does not work...

But it does connect with NO encryption.

Windows makes wireless networking much harder than it needs to be. What OS are you running? Is your PC up to date (Service Packs AND updates)? Have you considered just plunking down $40 for a router yet?
