Is it possible to connect the pod touch up to my laptop and share the internet? I have a web app running locally on that laptop and I want to access it on the ipod touch but is it possible to share internet through the usb cable?

Only through wifi, if you figure out a way through the USB cable, you would be awesome

try logging onto your IP in safari on the ipod (i am no network genius, but it could work)
EDIT: with lighttpd it works ipod to computer...

Explain please. And whats lighttpd?

So I can get onto it by connecting the ipod through the usb cable?

No... It just makes it so that you can browse files via IP with wifi.

You'd have better luck using settings in System Prefs>Sharing.

Im trying to be able to access files via the web browser that are hosted on that computer but without wifi but via the usb cable.

share internet from Mac?

Do you want to share the Internet from a Mac or PC? go onto iPod Touch Fans website and do a forum search of the following;

"no wifi at home try this" (without quotation)

Instructions will come up on how to share your Ethernet Connection through the wireless card/airport card. It works, I use it.

Cheers!

P.S. This also allows you to browse files. And use the internet on your ipod touch/iphone from your ethernet. :apple:
