Hi
I just want to share my impression for the spatial video capturing in iOS 17.2 with iPhone 15 Pro.
I might not getting Apple Vision Pro next year, but I read on twitter that some developers already testing apps
to export spatial videos to 3D side-by-side, which is commonly used in typical 3D TV.
So, I updated my iPhone 15 to iOS 17.2 beta right away.
After a few simple point-and-shoot videos in spatial video mode, then export it with "Specialify" app.
Then put it on my old Sony 3D TV from 2015.
I was blown away!
The quality is fantastic!
I shot a few videos of my cats, walking in the park, family moments.
And viewing it on my very old 3D TV is like new experience to me.
The depth is great, the color and the brightness is also great to me.
For me, shooting distance from the object around 50-70 cm is perfect.
I see my cats popping off my TV much better than those 3D blu-rays I own.
I used to tried taking videos with dedicated Panasonic 3D handheld camera, and the experience was awful.
But with iPhone, and ability to capture 3D videos anywhere I go, I think it's very impressive.
From the first video that I watch on TV, I immediately said to myself that, from now on I'll shoot in spatial mode as many as I can!
I don't mind extra use of storage, nor 1080 SDR resolution.
I think it's worth trading for.
And if I ever got Apple Vision Pro in the future, by that time I'd have so many memories to revisit on that device.
