Shared Airtag On New Phone

Hello. I have a shared Airtag that i am the owner of on my phone 15. I am getting an iphone 17 next week and i want to set it up from scratch. Do i delete the airtag from my current phone, reset it and then add it to the new phone or will it automatically come across to the new phone as i am going to be using the same apple id.

It's paired to your Apple ID. I can see all of my Airtags on all of my devices.

It’ll transfer automatically with your Apple ID — no need to reset the AirTag. Just set up your new iPhone and it should appear in Find My.
