I've run into a problem when using Dropbox on Mac (10.13.6 on one computer, 10.12 on the other) and haven't figured out why this happens:
For a work project, I share a Dropbox folder that I own with someone and we both contribute files to various folders within the Dropbox folder. The process essentially involves downloading Word, Pages, or PDF files from the browser and then moving those downloaded files into one of the Dropbox folders. The problem is, *sometimes* when my coworker adds PDFs or Pages files (note: this does NOT happen with .doc or .docx files), SOME of the files show up as Aliases, which link back to her Downloads folder.
Haven't figured out (a) why this happens or (b) how to prevent it. Is it a Dropbox issue? Is there a way that by dragging/dropping Mac is somehow creating an alias instead of moving or copying the file? Why would that be if so? Never have had this problem anywhere else.
