Hi,

On 10.5 the whole shared thing is great, but why do I appear as others as a white MacBook instead of the black one it really is?? Im not complaining I just find this wierd as my iMac appers as the one she is, and my friends MacBook Pro does the same. I know that in the coretypes.bundle there is the black MacBook icon (spotted it my self looking for the BSOD pc monitor hehe).

I managed to change the name so that my mac reads as if it was the white one but over the network I appear as a white one. Does anyone know how to change this? I know this maybe a ridiculous thing but I like when everything is just "perfect", thanks in advance.

Wow... sorry, but this is a tad lame. Why does it not work? Because there is no identifier to the color of the plastic.

Sure, but each model has its own number. Each model line has unique number.

Otherwise, black iPods would appear white in iTunes, wont they? ;)
