I just recently did a Spring Cleaning using the Smith Micro software because I was running out of memory (60 G HD and 1 G RAM). Part of this was due to the fact that I had a bunch of songs double recorded (long story involving an update of iTunes and subsequent loss of all of my songs from the music library) with other files that had exact duplicates. I left them in the trash for weeks as I continued to use the computer. Every system was working fine including the Appleworks which now isn't even though the icon is still on the dock. Yesterday, I finally ran out of memory, so I dumped the trash. Before the dumping, I got the following message: Can't make every item of <<class cfol>> "Library: Application Support: SmithMicro: FAXstf X: Startup" of Application "Finder" into type string. - 1700 Again, even after bypassing this message, the computer worked fine. After the dumping, in addition to the aforementioned error message, I'm getting: The Application "Appleworks" could not be launched because of a shared library error." - <Appleworks><CLASSIC_IFShLib><InterfaceLib> I have rebooted and tried to reinstall 10.4.6 (on original OS disc) but the Superdrive is also now not working (again since the dumping). Everything else seems to be working normally, just no Appleworks or Superdrive.
