Just wondering if this is possible.. I feel like it probably is technically..

If a shared album was made by someone with the some of the top quality wallpapers, with the ability to subscribe to them, we could then have this be the album that is used to ‘autorotate‘ for on the lockscreen.

Through this, we could have a forever-changing lockscreen.

I have to admit, I’ve always admired Windows way of doing things, with the changing of the background to a different landmark in the world etc.

It amazes me Apple haven’t done this, where we can subscribe to their album, showcasing the best of photography taken ‘by the people’.. but there we go.

The possibility to do this ourselves intrigues me.. and if anyone’s got access to the highest quality wallpapers that is willing to update them on a very recurring basis, that would be pretty incredible.

Any thoughts?

I think this would be possible by creating a shortcut / personal automation. There is a ‘Set Wallpaper’ action to set the Lock Screen and/or Home Screen wallpaper; and there are actions to get photos from an album that could be passed into this. I think the biggest challenge would be figuring out a way to randomize it, or to get photos in a certain order so that they aren’t repeated.

I agree, and for me the chance of them coming back again isn’t too bad, if you have e.g. if it was being updated by a team of people, there could be multiple photos uploaded per day.

Having the option to subscribe to an artist’s shared album for instance, would be fantastic. You could technically even have a small recurring purchase option, if the quality was high enough and photos were updated reguarly enough. Honestly, I’d be quite interested in this sort of subscription model
