Shared Printer Very slow.

hello everyone,

i am having a problem we have an xerox workstation 7435.
it's printing fine connected to the iMac in that network but as soon as we print to it using print share on the iMac's print share it takes alot longer...

printer is in network 2

printing from mac in network 2 takes around 6 seconds.

printing from a mac in network 1 takes around 1 minute and 20 seconds.

hope anyone is able to help me around?

all iMacs are running 10.7 lion

If I understand you correctly, the xerox is connected to a network, and being shared through the iMac. If this is so, tell the iMac not to share that printer, and instead have each computer print directly to the xerox through the network.

Only share through a computer if you can't connect the printer to the network directly. Doing so adds another stop on the way to the printer, slowing things down.

no thats not the problem the printer is with only one mac in a network
the other macs are in another network
