I want to share my connection from WiFi to my router. I have my iMac connected through WiFi to my wireless router, and I want to share my WiFi connection to my other router by plugging an ethernet cable in my iMac and into the router and sharing the Airport connection from my iMac to the ethernet. Then I want to plug another ethernet cable into my Xbox and run it to the router I just set up. How do I do this?

why don't you just run the ethernet cable straight from the wireless router to the XBox. Most wireless routers have a few ethernet ports for wired connections.

That's what I did before, but after I moved the router is downstairs and my computer is upstairs, and so is the Xbox, and I don't have any ethernet cables that can reach that far.

I see...

anyway, you should be able to do it by turning on Internet Sharing in System Preferences/Sharing, and setting the source as Airport and the destination as Ethernet...

if it doesn't work, try eliminating the router and going straight from the iMac to the XBox

I already tried through the router to the xbox with internet sharing enabled, didn't work.

When I go straight from the iMac to the Xbox, I get this message on the xbox:
No DNS Server addresses were received from the DHCP or PPPoE server.

What does that mean?

Anyone know?

it means the xbox didnt get the DHCP details (gateway, ip address, etc). easiest way is to enable internet sharing, but this time connect ethernet from xbox to imac, with imac internet sharing set to share connection thru ethernet.
