Sharing External HDD w/ Time Machine

I have a 750 GB external esata / usb hard drive and I mainly use it on my PC, but is it possible to partition off part of it for Time Machine and have the rest for my PC? Right now it is formated in NTFS, but could I partition off 100 GB or so and format it in HFS? Anyone know or confirm this would work?
