I have a brand new MacBook Pro, bought just a few days ago, with Mac OS X 10.7.2.

I would like to share some files among all of its users. I tried moving the files into the Users/Shared folder but when I try to access them from another user I get the following error message:

"You do not have permission to open the document filename.extension"

It happens with any kind of file, a video, an image, a document, etc.

I tried changing the permissions of each file to "Read & Write" for "everyone" but it didn't work, I still get the same message.

I tried using the Public folder of each user but it didn't work either.

Is this a normal behavior? Is there another step in the process I am missing which I am supposed to do? Is there another way to share files among users on the same machine?
