Hi all,

I am currently in the process of making a network between my Mac and PC so I can share files between the two.

I used a tutorial I found on Google and everything worked fine so far. However, the Mac files which are appearing on the PC are not the ones I have given permission for.

One the Mac, in the Shared Folders section, I have only added 'Downloads', and nothing else. But when I open it from my PC, I can see Macintosh HD, Pictures, Iomega HDD, yanig (user), and some other ones. I have not given permission for these to be shared so why are they available to the PC?

Thank you in advance!

Yani

Do you have the same username and logon on both computers? If so, the mac assumes that the user logged onto the pc is the same as the one that owns the files on the mac and shares them to you.

Thanks for your reply!

The user names on both computers were the same. However, after changing the PC's user name, the problem still remains.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
