sharing files (iphoto and itunes)

I own an imac in which I have create two accounts (my wifes and myself)

We have the same photos and music. How can I share them over each account?
I don`t`know if I am clear enough, the idea is that each user when openning iphoto or itunes see the same files without need to duplicate them over the HD.
