ive successfully done this before with 10.5 and xp and am trying to replicate with 10.6 and win7.

my imac connects to internet via airport. i want to share that internet with a win7 box via ethernet cable. i've turned on internet sharing in sys prefs but to no avail.

are there any win7 settings that need tweaking in order for this to work?

Are you getting an appropriate IP address (from a DHCP server) on your Windows box? And do you have a DNS server address as well?

snow leopard just says its self assigned 169.254.170.57

win7 show an exclamation point says its connected but no network access

Did you select sharing from: Airport to: Ethernet?

Self assigned address doesn't sound like you have internet on that adapter.

snow leopard reports 169.254.27.179 (on ethernet)airport internet works just fine)

ipconfig in win7 reports 169.254.12.106
