Sharing iTunes Library Between Mac and PC

Hi

I have all my music (in MP3) on a NAS device which my desktop PC looks at. Is there any way to share this same library with my new Macbook? I don't have iTunes set to manage my music for me, as it's all filed by artist>album and I use external rippers. I use iTunes only for handling my iPhone.

I want changes made on the desktop PC to be reflected in the library that the Macbook opens. Is it even possible? How?! If I option-click iTunes on the macbook, and select the library, it doesn't see any music.
