Sharing (large) videos over internet

I make HD videos of my son's football games. They end up over 1gb. Right now, I am forced to convert them to DVD's to share, which is expensive and time intensive.

Can someone tell me how to take my IMovie and send it to the team players via the internet (rather than DVD)? I need a format that both Mac and (aghast) PC users can use.
