Hi All,

Sorry for having to post what is probably a question that has a fairly simple answer but I have tried googling and looking on the forums and none of what I have found has helped to solve the problem.

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro 13" (2.3Ghz) and wish to connect it to my new Windows 7 Gaming Desktop and share the internet connection via an Ethernet Cable. My MacBook Pro is connected to the internet via Airport and I have connected the two computers together via an ethernet cable.

I have gone into System Preferences on OSX and shared the internet connection, but I don't seem to be able to get a connection between the two computers. My Mac can see the windows computer in finder but does not seem to be able to connect it just gets stuck on 'connecting...' and the windows computer takes a long time on 'Identifying...' and then calls it a 'Network' but does not connect to the internet (in the network and sharing centre). I have also tried disabling the firewall on both computers.

When performing network diagnostics through windows it tells me that 'Your computer appears to be correctly configured but the device or resource (primary DNS server) is not desponding' and 'The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the Internet is broken'. The mac is also registering as being a self-assigned IP address.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated! I hope i have provided enough information but if your need any more just let me know and i'll try and provide it.

Thanks,

Sareon
