I have a question; I have an Apple TV at home and another at my sister's house, they have my account so that they can watch all the movies that I have purchased through Apple, But I was wondering about the movies I've downloaded through other sources. Can they also watch those movies?
I know that I need to have my apple tv up on my computer in order to watch these movies but can my sister see them too even if it's a different location and network?
Is there a way that I can watch these movies without my computer being turned on?

Since the AppleTV doesn’t store content locally, whatever solution you choose will require your computer to be on. If you can live with that then the easiest way to accomplish your goal is a suite of apps called Plex.

Plex will turn your computer into a Netflix style server. It streams content from your computer via the internet. Install the Plex app on an ATV, log in to your Plex account and voila. You’ve become your own streaming service.

Be advised though it won’t work with DRM content. Check it out at plex.tv

I will try those and see. But with Plex, if I sign up to it there will be a fee after the trial so will my sister have to do the same?

Plex is free

there is a paid level that adds features, but basic sharing is free.
