So I've had laptops for over a decade in one form or another but have never spilled liquid on them. I had my 13" Macbook Pro Retina for just under 2 weeks when I accidentally doused it with a lot of liquid. (never again)

I tried to dry it out, it was noticeably slow, battery was dead and all that. So I took it to Apple and called Amex. Amex will cover the repair charges.

The line item on the repair list includes everything including display and chassis. So basically, I ended up getting a brand new laptop.

I have to say that I really love that Apple would charge me half the price of a new laptop to basically replace the one that I ruined and luckily, I will be reimbursed through my credit card.

You are a very lucky person! I do not think you will forget the lesson.
