Sharing sound between users

Is there any way to keep iTunes (for example) playing when fast-user-switching to another user account? The more general question would be how to keep sounds for all user accounts running concurrently...Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I couldn't find anything applicable when I searched.

I am not at my Mac to re-test this with my current version of iTunes, but this has been possible in the past - as discussed here.

Thanks for the pointer. Sounds like it's possible if you use AirTunes and remote speakers, but (maybe) not possible using directly connected speakers?

I have confirmed that the method I describe does continue to work in iTunes 7.5, but apparently does not solve your particular issue.
