I searched the forum for a similar question and did not find one. I have a PC desktop and MacBook. My PC is wired directly into my Airport Extreme. My Mac connects wirelessly. When I open the lid on my Mac, the PC finds it in just a few seconds. But on my Mac, it takes several minutes -sometimes many minutes- for the "Sharing" to show up in my Finder sidebar.

Is there a way to force it to search and find the PC right away? Is there some sort of internal timer that only searches for other computers whenever the timer is ready? Right now it says (name of network) ... connecting. It has been doing so for over half an hour now! Eventually it will pop up and I'm good to go, but this is rather time consuming to get connected to my PC.
