Sharing youtube videos

About half the time I try to share a youtube video on my iphone by clicking the "share" button in the video description it doesn't do anything. It brings up the mail (I have gmail set up) and I fill in the TO: field then hit send. But it is not sent out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
