So I have a muscle disease, I don't lift my arms or keep my arms up while typing. My forearm rests on the sharp edges while typing and it hurts as I'm typing this. Do any of you have clever tips on a way around this issue? I've tried placing a mouse pad or thin pillow on the edge but it impedes the touch pad. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas!
The sharp edges on my MBP (silver)would distract me and break my train of thought, so used 1000 grit wet sandpaper to just break the edge a tiny bit, it is absolutely not recommended to do that but it helped me at the time.

Can you type with the laptop at a lower angle? I type from my lap, which places my lower wrist on the laptop and angled up so that no part of my wrist or forearm rests on the edge. Barring that try some kind of sticky plastic liner that you can wrap around in a smooth curve over the front.

Right, would one of those laptop "pads" (that I think are more meant to keep heat away from your body) work by changing the angle?
