I ordered Macbook Pro on Tuesday and upgraded to 16 mb ram so it was going to take a few extra days to get it. I just got a Fedex notice that I had a shipment set to arrive Tuesday coming from Shanghai, China. Is this where it will come from?
From my understanding, most CTO's will ship in China. Base models and certain select builds are already available immediately. For example. Today, I just ordered online and picked up 13 inch MBP 2.8 GHz i7 QC, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB Storage, Space Gray, at my local Apple Store. While it isn't a base model, I believe Apple do carry certain builds to be in stock to be sold, just like the one I purchased today and mine wasn't a CTO.

CTO is Custom to Order, meaning you customized your order from the base model, by adding additional ram and/or storage or even upgrading from i5 to i7. etc.
