Shipping Date for new iMac

Does anyone know when the iMac 800MHz G4 will start shipping? Or atleast any idea. Cuz i bought one yesterday,and they said at the end of this month. But i heard something like this last year, about a shipping date, and the products started shipping before that date. Any ideas?

Also, I'm new to macrurmos, but I've been a frequent reader and I'm glad that "SomeAppleGuy" is taking a break.

FWIW - I ordered an 800 iMac from the Apple Store today and was given a ship date of "sometime in January". I checked with MacWarehouse and a local Atlanta retailer and both companies quoted me an "end of January" shipdate.

I'm not in any particular hurry, but I figured that the Apple Store might have better access to new machines. I might be right...or wrong...
