Shipping Date October 19th

How come a lot of people are getting an October 19th shipping date even if they ordered in September? I ordered mine on October 1st and I was told 2-3 weeks, however the AT&T chat representative told me a shipping date of October 19th-31st.

Also, do you think that the Foxconn strike in China will delay the production/shipment of the phones or will they resume in a timely manner?

From Apple Insider this morning:
"Any reports that there has been an employee strike are inaccurate," Foxconn said, adding that "there has been no workplace stoppage in that facility or any other Foxconn facility and production has continued on schedule."
