Shipping Delayed due to Panther?

I just ordered a 1.25 GHz PowerBook two days ago, but with a Combo Drive and one stick of 512 RAM. The order page quoted 7-10 business days, but the Order Status page said shipping on or before October 27th. Is anybody else in the same situation? I know it's close anyhow, but could this be because they're waiting to ship it with Panther pre-installed?

Doesn't seem likely, because then they would just have it shipped on the 24th. It's not like they have to wait until Panther is released to install it.

More likely it's because you placed a custom order, which takes longer, because they have to actually build the computer specifically for you. (They have a stock pile of pre-configured machines, but yours is "special")

I wouldn't expect pre-loading until computers purchased on or after the 24th.

The CD drives and Superdrives are backordered. Yours will probably ship later this week.
