Shipping estimates could always improve

Is it possible that Apple is being conservative with the shipping estimates of 3-4 weeks? In the past, estimates have changed at the drop of a hat. All depends on how production is going for them.

At least we know that unlike iOS devices, these shipping estimates will only decrease and not increase.

That's my hope! I'm quoted 11th to 19th of May and i'm going on a trip starting the 7th. Let's hope it improves!

Well I can only hope so, with a 6-7 week wait ahead of me and a MBA that's hanging on by the skin of its teeth.

An earlier dispatch would be lovely. But if not, I just have to be more patient.

yes it is possible. The estimates *usually* are a worst case scenario.
