This being my first pre order for an iPhone through apple.com I was wondering who they use for shipping as in like USPS, UPS, FEDEX and can I have them just hold it at the station? Before it gets on the truck that way I can just pick it up as soon as they open at like 8 or whenever they open? I've noticed that delivery trucks get here at my apartment complex around 2-5 and I have work at noon so I wanna pick it up before that. Thanks!

UPS or Fedex.

And yes you do have to option to have it hold for pick up at your local UPS or Fedex location.

Its usally UPS sometimes Fedex. You can sign up for MYUPS and schedule it to hold at your local hub or even your local UPS store. Fedex has the same features but I havent used them yet.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess ill just have to wait for the shipping email to see where its at and click the option to hold at station.

now don't hold me to this. from what i know fedex is in charge of apple's accessories and ups is in charge of shipping the actually products.

But in times like this, I'm pretty sure Apple uses both carrier to have the phone delivered. I know when I pre-ordered an ipad mini or a 4S, UPS delivered them for me and not fedex.

OnLy 1/2 true. Yes, FedEx or UPS, but for special delivery options (specific times, hold at hub, etc.), you'll need to be a member of their special services (E.g. UPS MyChoice).

Now I know ups has their stores and also their customer centers. If we decide to hold our phones for pick up which of the two will they let us do that at?

Phones will go to major hub (E.g. Memphis), then typically another hub (E.g. Louisville), then a smaller hub, then a local hub, then you house. UPS stores are typically for outward bound shipping only.
