i ordered my first mac on monday. 17 pb w/ 1gb of ram, and woke up this morning to an email saying it's been shipped! now, i'm excited as can be of course, but wondering since it was shipped on on a friday, does it continue traveling to here (ohio) over the weekend or not. I know UPS doesn't deliever normal shipping packages on the weekends, but didn't know if it would make it's way to here in the mean time so it can be delivered monday/tuesday hopefully!

All the shipping companies even USPS are 24/7 operations. It will still be in transit on the weekends. As you said, they won't deliver it on the weekend.
I have also noticed that the tracking information does not always update on the weekend, either.
