I'm about to buy a MBP and I had a few questions on shipping. Do I really need to buy a customized one to ensure that my computer has the newer motherboard or would it be sufficient to get a stock one to make it easier to exchange if it is defective? Also, how long does it take from ordering it to actually getting it when customizing it versus buying stock? I want to send it to a friend so I don't have to pay sales tax and she is visiting me next friday. If I order it today would that be enough time or would it take longer than a week?
Thanks!

If you ordered a stock MBP, it should be a new one because it will be direct from Apple and it wont be like buying one from the store which you don't know if it is new or not because of old stock that they might have.
