Think about it. The Apple Watch 2 will have to use the same bands or else people will be super pissed. This means they will have to sell it without bands which means that there will be fewer SKUs to get messed up.

NO SKUs are getting "messed up". Apple had to manufacture most of the watches in 2 weeks because there was NO sales data. No company in their right mind (even your god-like apple) would manufacture millions of several hundred dollar items that no one else in the world could sell in a years time.

So yes, you are right, this will never happen again. Although it is laughable you think Apple will not make you buy another band with Apple Watch 2, even if the old bands do work.

I don't think they will be selling them with out bands. Everyone will just buy the sport band in the collection they want and have that as a bonus.

They won't sell the watch without bands. Do they sell iPhones without the charging cable because last year's iPhone also had a charging cable? There will always be newcomers to the watch who don't already own bands.

However, what they will have is:

1. Sales data from this watch, which will help prioritize SKUs for production of the second watch

2. Fully ramped up production

That being said, it's an Apple product, and if this first gen is as big of a hit as preorders seem to indicate, there may still be waits for some people.

Youre right but the OP makes an interesting point. The band is likely not going anywhere next time around. Since people will have several they could buy any watch face and have a band for it.

There is NO way Apple is selling an Apple watch without a band. Please get that silly idea out of your heads. It's a WATCH they sell not a "oh you have a band already? Here's a casing for $350"

You do not sell a watch without a band. Apple watch 2 will have new bands
