Hi guys, I am about to buy a new MBP, however today i noticed that apple says MBP ship in 1-3 business days. My problem is I have a trip scheduled for late next week and I wanted to ask you guys if anyone who has ordered a MBP recently has actually had theirs shipped in the last day (3rd Business Day), or if apple states 1-3 days but might ship it in the 1st or 2nd day? Also just to make sure apple only offers 2-3 business days and std shipping? I want to customize my new MBP so my only option is online...Thanks for your input and help.

If you order a custom machine...you will more than likely NOT get your machine until late next week...but more than likely you wouldn't get it until the following week.
If you order a stock machine, you still only might get it by the end of next week. They ship from China...I would try to find a local Apple Store and just get one there...
I wanted to upgrade the 2.2 ghz model from 120Gb to 160GB, my ques. was if when apple states that MBP ships in 1-3 business days is the actual shipping time closer to 1 business day or the actual 3 business days since i am on a short time frame since i have a trip coming up and the only way to upgrade from 120GB to 160GB is if you order it online...also is apple charges ones credit card when you place the order or when they actually ship the computer since my credit card cut-off date is in just 2 days....thanks
I ordered a 15" 2.2ghz MBP. I upgradeed the HD to 160/5400rpm and had iWorks preinstalled. I placed this order on the 5th around2pm and the order shipped on the 8th. My card was charged well before it shipped. Hope this info helps since it seems like my situation iw/was the same as yours.
I know this isn't going to help, but the reason it says 1-3 days is that it will be sometime in the next 3 days. In my experience it has been nearly always 3 days but have had only to wait one day on the odd occasion. Im sure other people will tell you opposite mind.
I was also thinking about buying a customized machine with a 160 GB drive - until I realized that the extra 40GB would end up costing me $375. By buying through an online retailer, I was able to get a $150 rebate, save about $150 in tax and, of course, save the $75 Apple charges for the extra 40 GB. (A free printer and carry bag were also available.) For reference, I just bought a very nice Seagate 120GB drive for my windows laptop for $80 from NewEgg.com

I found that availability changes very quickly. Within an hour or two the place I bought mine went from "ships today" to "ships in 2+ weeks" back to ships today. I bought it today and it should be delivered tomorrow (Saturday).
