so I seen a lot of people get decent fps on Skyrim...I downloaded Skyrim special edition and it optimised it at low quality

I was getting around 20 fps....cmon the 460 cannot be that bad?

The only game I have ever even attempted on a Mac is WOW. I know what Macs are capable of, and gaming definitely isn't on that list. I have a separate PC I built to game on. Not the answer you are looking for though, and I apologize for that.

Yeah, what resolution is a big question. Most games seem to struggle armature resolution, but can be more comfortably played at 1900x1200.

i realized what the issue was.... i had the special edition and that HOGS the graphic card...i just downloaded the normal skyrim and can play all ultra on 2880 x 1800 on around 40-45 fps which i quite decent

Sucks to say, but you might be better off playing the original release of skyrim if you don't have a dedicated gaming rig

i know tbh its not that much difference ive got the normal one now and decent fps

I'd still consider dropping the resolution down. Trying to play Skyrim SE at native is too much, but I bet you could get more playable rates at 1900x1200

droppin it to that resoltution wont be good on the special edition but can the human eye tell different between 1900 x1200 and 2800 x 1800?

I'm not sure why that wouldn't be good on the special edition. It should still look pretty good and you'll get the benefits of the better lighting, etc.

I think the human eye can certainly tell the difference but especially at the 15" screen size the difference between a game at native res and at 1900x1200 isn't really that different.

Most of the MBP Radeon 460 gaming videos on YouTube show a pretty big boost in playable framerates from dropping resolution like this.

Nope, not yet....just been doing a lot of research on the capabilities of these models.

Good luck, I'm curious to hear how Skyrim SE works for you at a lower res.
