I am fully aware that the volume button/s can be used to take pictures underwater as a workaround for when you're underwater or wearing gloves but is there a way (app, tricks, etc..) to take pictures WHILE shooting a video?

In normal conditions, iOS 7 allows us to take pictures while shooting a video by tapping the white circle while the video is recording but then again, I will be shooting underwater so... any ideas?

As much as possible, I'd like to avoid the hassle of having to "slice" the video into frames just to get pictures

TL;DR is there an app/trick that would allow me to take pictures while shooting a video without tapping (i.e., timed or using vol. buttons)?

Thanks in advance for your replies

I thought of that, too but won't it reduce the quality/resolution?

What about taking pictures out of the video afterward? There are some apps, like Stillshot for example, that would allow for that.

I assumed they would have some sort of housing where they can manipulate their phone (and screen).
