Mac Newbie here...Whenever I download anything I end up with two things on my desktop, one of them looks like a white ipod layed down flat, and the second is a white paper with a pic of my harddrive on the paper. What do i need to do with these? Can I delete? Sorry for the stupid question just very new to the mac world. Apprecaite all help

What you're seeing is a disk image...info on how to install programs packaged this way can be found here.

Basically, for many programs, all you have to do to install is drag the item in the mounted disk (the "flat iPod") to your Applications folder. You can then "eject" the mounted disk and delete the .dmg file.
