This case is hard, not a soft touch or rubberized one like others out there. I had purchased a Splash case before this was available to hold me over, but was really hating that I couldn't have this case yet. Finally arrived today. I LOVE these cases, had one on my iPhone 4 as well. Fit is perfect, kinda tight and adds some rigidity to the phone that I wanted. I like the fact that its so sturdy and isn't flimsy like other thin cases. My wife has one as well on her 4, which has some deep scuffs and scratches from drops. These cases will hold up to minor drops and bumps, but nothing like an Otterbox can probably deal with. Anyone looking for a perfectly made, perfectly sized case that offers decent middle ground protection, yet is thin and adds little bulk, yet adds some rigidity and slight "weight" to the slim and light iphone5....look no further. It snapped into place, no need to constantly keep pressing it in to ensure the fit. In fact, the fit is so precise and tight, that I'm almost afraid that constant removing could scuff the phone. You need to take care when snapping it on. I actually like that though, I know the phone is secure in the case and properly snapped in. There is about 1mm or so of where the case protrudes above the screen, so it *can* be placed screen down without touching, but I wouldn't recommend it. Elago is from now on my goto case for any iPhone I'll ever own. I grabbed mine on amazon, $10 cheaper than Elago's website.
