Looking for recommendations on a 1ft. USB-A to USB-C cable with a right-angle (preferably just on the USB-C end, with the USB-A end being straight), for use with CarPlay. There seem to be a lot of instances of cables not working with CarPlay, and although Anker sounds like a safe bet, I don't think they make a short / right-angle cable. I see quite a few options on Amazon, but was hoping to avoid the trial and error method.

I'm not a fan of specialty cables; I'd rather have specialty adapters to use with whatever cables (length, etc.) that I need.

I don't have CarPlay, but if you don't mind spending $6 to try something, here's a link to a 2-pack of right-angle USB-C adapters that I've bought and have found to work on absolutely everything I need them to. Plus they're sturdy, and not bulky (meaning they fit into recessed spaces that a lot of my straight-end USB-C cables can't). I've used these adapters on my Mac and iPad mini 6 for a lot of things -- fast charge/sync, connecting to external SSDs which continue to work at full speed (800+ MB/s), connecting to USB hubs that I use to hook up to external monitors via HDMI, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, additional USB A or C devices, power pass through and more (from both the Mac and the iPad).

Here's the link if you're interested in trying them out. I started off with one pack and then after I saw how well they worked, as well as how sturdy and compact they are, I ordered another the next time I was on Amazon.

Right now Amazon is telling me free Prime delivery tomorrow on them.

I actually have a few of those (this exact product) on hand, as I used them to make a specific connection from my MBP to a hardware controller... I can pull one off and try to see if it would work acceptably in the car (I need the right-angle so that my phone can fit in a specific space... this adapter sticks out a little bit more than my current right-angle lightning cable, but still might work).

Additionally, I looked at my Amazon order history, and I think my right-angle lightning cables are actually 3ft., not 1ft. (only a small length of the cable is sticking out... I must have coiled the excess behind the space).

This things are so nice and perfect for so many things. And at a terrific price.

I haven't even opened my second pack of them. I bought them because I knew I'd run into cases where I could use more of them at some point, so I bought more and just threw them into my computer bag. Why not, at the price they're charging?

My initial reason for trying them out was because I bought a Keychron K8 Pro keyboard, which has a recessed USB-C connector on the side with tight clearances around the cutout. I had plenty of right angle adapters already, but they were all too short make the connection. Plus my existing preferred keyboard cable (not right-angled) couldn't even fit through the surrounding cutout. These adapters were perfect for that application plus everything else I've tried them with. Might even pick up more!

Yes, my initial reaction a little while ago looking at the adapter is that it probably would not work for me because the plastic portion looked too large to fit in the typical iPhone case opening. But it looks like perhaps the metal portion is long enough to compensate for that.

Hope it works out for you!

Also, I just tried one of the adapters with my new 2TB Samsung T7. Blackmagic test with it hit 1,207 MB/s. Not bad, especially considering Samsung only claims 1,050 MB/s for the T7.
