Hi all,

I have been using a shortcut that has been really helpful for me, and might be for others too. I frequently want to toggle my Always on Display on and off. Sometimes I love the AoD functionality, like workouts or hikes or bike rides, or when Im in a meeting I know Ill be wanting to glance at my wrist occasionally. Other times I prefer to have it off, so its less noticeable and disturbing like putting my kids to bed, or overnight camping when I want to save the battery, or being discreet in the city late at night.

I know Theater mode is available, and I use it often, but really there are times I want the watch to be more "alive" and available than what theater mode has to offer (disables raise to wake, sound, etc). With the new bedtime feature Im using it less and less tho.

With this AoD toggle shortcut I say "Display On" or "Display Off" to Siri, and it toggles the mode automatically. I can do it via phone or watch. Its been great and way better than digging through the menus every time. Theres no easy way to do it manually.

Heres what it looks like, in two shortcuts. Im sure someone can fit this all into one with more creative shortcut design, but this works well as it is. If anyone has ideas on how to streamline into one shortcut Id love to hear it:

I agree, I did the same thing on my watch… I found this forum thread looking for a way to "toggle" the setting in shortcuts, as opposed to having two separate shortcuts (one for "on", one for "off"). Do you (or anyone else) know how to toggle settings from shortcuts? Or a way to "get" the binary status of specific system settings?

But yes, theatre mode is a little inadequate for me because it stays on for eternity and I forget to take it off. It would be so much better if theatre mode could be contained to durations like "until I leave this location" or "turn off in 30/60/90/120/150 minutes". The problem is the lack of sound/vibrations and notifications when people try to communicate with me.
