I just KNOW there is a keyboard shortcut for going back to the previous page without going to the arrow but cannot find out how to do it. Can someone advise, please? Thanks!

shortcut to back

Backspace will do fine (the one above the Enter key and the long arrow to the left) and also Cmd + Arrow Left.

Thanks!!! I feel like an idiot for not discovering this after all my years on macs - guess I just wasn't annoyed quite enough:eek::eek: Thanks so much!!

While you're talking about shortcuts for back, there's also the 3 finger trackpad gesture of swiping 3 fingers to the left. To go forward, swipe three fingers to the right. Works great.

You don't have to "discover" anything. =)

The keyboard shortcuts are listed on the menus.

For example under History there is shortcut for Back and Forward.
If you use the shift then it goes between different tabs.

There's also Cmd+[ and Cmd+] for back and forward. Cmd + left or right doesn't always work for me. The brackets always do except when Safari has a PDF open.

Backspace/Delete doesn't always work because it serve's two functions, the priority being to delete text. Other things which take precedence is when you have clicked in a flash game.

Command + [ or Command + ] will work on any browser to go back/fwd.

Throw in a shift and it'll toggle through tabs.

This way you don't have to memorize which shortcuts work for which browser.
