I scan my textbooks to pdf then use the TTS feature in Preview to listen to the text as I read it. To do this I (1) highlight the text, (2) click the "Edit" dropdown menu, (3) select "Speech", and (4) select "Start speaking." This has worked fine but now that I'm reading a lot more I'm thinking there has to be a quicker way to do this. In Safari I just highlight and right click. I've searched around for tips on shortcut buttons but no luck. I know this is a peculiar scenario but if anyone else out there with reading comprehension struggles has mastered a quicker way of doing this (or other tricks) I'd LOVE to hear your tips!!
