hi. (im not sure that's the correct forum for this so if its not please refer me :))
I own a MacBook Pro late 2016 13" (2 ports), it was the cheapest model back then.
im a photographer and video editor and I need a powerful computer. for the past 4 years I used it for my film studies.
it was never a power house but lately I noticed it got singnifictly slower.
I could use simple effecst in da Vinci resolve and now it totally stuck when I add one and can't preview it.
also it get really hot and sometimes even simple apps run slowly.
I wanted to ask if there is something I can make on my own to make it run better?
also, can I upgrade its ram? will it make any change?
take it to a technician will help in any way? (maybe clean its fans or put new thermal paste idk)

is the m1 Mac good for video editing?

thanks guys

Cleaning the fans and new thermal paste might not be a bad idea. Upgrading the RAM is not possible.

Honestly, I first upgraded my 2013 MBA to a 2019 MBA with Intel (i7 max speed, max memory). I use Logic Pro and Final Cut. Final Cut was barely useable and I was very disappointed. After giving it lots of thoughts, I exchanged my 2019 MBA for a 2020 MBA M1. I lost money in the exchange, but I am totally satisfied. M1 is huge, huge improvement.
