This is my first Mac so I don't know if this is normal or not. I can hear what appears to be fan noise from the top right of the keyboard. It happens all the time from the moment I turn on the machine.

I'm on the new MBP 15" 2.2 with 4GB ram.

istat has my fans running at a minimum of 1999 rpms.

Am I being paranoid?

Thanks.

The fans on all Macs runs constantly. The minimum speed for MBP fans is about 2000 rpm. They spin faster when needed to keep temperatures within normal operating ranges. It's perfectly normal.
